Dota 2 Battle Passes Explained

Home » Dota 2 Battle Passes Explained

The International 2022 is less than a month away. As it was usually the case, Valve will release its Battle Pass to support the tournament.

It will be a two-part event that will give you unique skins for some heroes and will contribute to the TI prize pool.

Before the pandemic in 2020, May typically meant the release of a fresh Battle Pass for that year’s TI.

However, the unfortunate cancellation of TI10 in 2020 disrupted the annual Battle Pass’s normal schedule.

That’s when Valve opted to sell two distinct Battle Passes in 2021 as opposed to one single Battle Pass for TI.

This year, the annual Battle Pass has made a comeback for TI11 in 2022. And as many players get hyped for the games, the eSports bets, and everything it surrounds it, here’s what you need to know about its release.

Two-Parts Pass

This time, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the new Battle Pass in two parts.

The 2022 Battle Pass model will assume the first half lasting from September 1st to November 2nd and the second part lasting from November 3rd to January 12th, 2023.

The second portion of the episode is more concerned with keeping players engaged in the game, whereas the first part heavily emphasizes TI11.

The main focus of the Battle Pass thus far was hyping up players for The International. After last year’s Team Spirit win, players are more eager than ever for the following tournament.

The critical point of this year’s Battle Pass is to maintain the anticipation and excitement long after The International has ended, as previously stated by Valve.

Over the years, it has been clear that the introduction of the Battle Pass results in a boom in the number of players who previously played the game.

The revised timeframe intends to do this by prolonging the players’ engagement with Dota 2.

Battle Pass Bundles

Arcanas

Fans have gotten two new Arcanas and two new hero Personas with the launch of the new Battle Pass.

The Personas and the last Arcana will be made available on November 3rd with the second half of the Battle Pass, whereas just one Arcana is available in the first portion of the Battle Pass.

The new Personas and Arcanas that were made available with the Dota 2 Battle Pass are listed below:

  • Claszian Apostasy (Faceless Void Arcana) – Available at level 495
  • Oldstorm Asylum (Razor Arcana) – Available at level 383
  • Exile Unveiled (Phantom Assassin Persona) – Available at level 296
  • Primal Beast Prestige Bundle – Available at level 223
  • Conduit of the Blue Heart (Crystal Maiden Persona) – Available at level 148

Fans will also get the chance to enjoy four unique treasures that you can get as you progress through various levels:

  • Immortal Treasure I
  • Immortal Treasure II (Releasing with the second part of the Battle Pass)
  • Ageless Heirlooms 2022
  • The Battle Pass Collection 2022

Finally, Battle Pass will feature numerous other perks and gifts including:

  • Audio chat-wheels
  • Seasonal sprays, ping signs, and emoticons
  • Hero Taunts
  • New Courier and Wards
  • New custom towers (Available at level 176)
  • TI11 themed HUD

Battle Pass Mini-Game

With the launch of the TI11, Valve has announced that there won’t be any original mini-games in the first part of the Pass.

Players will be able to still finish their Cavern Crawl tasks and enjoy cosmetic tweaks for Slardar, Juggernaut, and Crystal Maiden.

Having said that, whether or not you possess the Battle Pass, the second installment will include the fan-favorite Diretide mini-game with a winter theme for everyone.

Valve also recently unveiled new weekly bonuses that will aid you in moving through the Battle Pass levels more quickly and reaching additional rewards before the season is through.

The fact that Valve combined the two biggest in-game events simply serves to affirm that this is the biggest Battle Pass in the history of the game.

Battle Pass Features

There are several features in the 2022 Battle Pass’s first portion that you may use to earn Battle Points, even though many of them won’t be available until November 3rd.

Additionally, to keep the Battle Pass engaging for all participants, Valve often releases new features along with upgrades.

Here is a list of every feature you can access in the first phase of the Battle Pass:

  • Cavern Crawl
  • Team and player sticker collections
  • Weekly quests including two bonus weeks
  • Weekly bonuses
  • TI11 Regional and Last Chance Qualifier, and Bracket stage predictions

Level 1 Battle Pass Bundle will go for $9.99, Level 50 Bundle goes for $29.35, and Level 100 will cost $44.99.

This sums up all the information regarding this year’s Battle Pass. Are you feeling more excited about all the perks you’ll be getting with the Battle Pass or about the upcoming TI11?
